Terms of use

Last updated 20 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Furr for using the Furr app and website. They are written to be read, so please read them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

1. This agreement

By creating a Furr account you agree to these terms. This is an electronic agreement, valid under Sri Lanka's Electronic Transactions Act No. 19 of 2006. Furr is run by its founders in Colombo, Sri Lanka while we register it as a company. When that is done, the company will take over this agreement and we will tell you. You can contact us at support@furr-labs.com.

2. Who can use Furr

  • You must be 18 or older. Furr is for adults: if we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we will close it.
  • Furr is made for pet owners in Sri Lanka. Some features only work with Sri Lankan locations and phone numbers.

3. Your account

  • Give your real name and an email address you use, and keep them up to date.
  • Keep your password to yourself and don't share it, even with family. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using your account.
  • Your account is for you. Use family sharing, not a shared login, when others help care for your pet.

4. Furr is not a vet or an official record

Furr helps you keep records and reminders. It doesn't give veterinary advice, and it never replaces a registered veterinary surgeon. If your pet is unwell or injured, contact a vet straight away.

  • Records in Furr are what you or the people you share with entered. We don't check them, unless a record clearly says it was confirmed.
  • Reminders depend on your phone: notifications, battery settings and the date and time. Don't rely on Furr alone for a vaccination or medicine your pet must not miss.
  • Tips and guides in Furr are general information, not advice for your pet.
  • Records, health cards and the rabies proof screen in Furr are your own records. They are not official vaccination certificates or dog registration, so keep the original certificates your vet gives you.

5. Your information and content

  • What you add to Furr (records, photos, notes, posts) stays yours. You keep the copyright in your photos.
  • So that Furr can work, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide permission to: store and copy what you add; resize, crop and compress photos and files; show them to you and the people you share a pet with; show community posts to other Furr users; have our service providers process them for us; and keep backups.
  • You agree that those technical changes (resizing, cropping, compressing) don't harm your rights as the author. We will never use your photos or posts in our marketing without asking you separately.
  • This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backup copies until they expire (normally within 30 days) and copies others already have, such as a health card you shared.
  • Only add photos and documents you have the right to share, and only photos of people who agreed to it.
  • The health card is a PDF made on your phone. Once you send it to someone, it is outside Furr and we can't take it back.

6. Sharing pets with others

  • An invite code lets someone join your pet for up to 7 days after you create it. Only share it with people you trust.
  • People who join can see and edit your pet's records, care, weights and expenses. Only the owner can invite or remove people, hand the pet over, archive it or delete it.
  • If you delete your account, a pet you share passes to the person who joined it first.

7. Using Furr fairly

When you use Furr, don't:

  • break the law, or use Furr to harm animals or people;
  • sell, breed for sale or trade animals through Furr;
  • post false lost or found reports, scams, or misleading information;
  • harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone, or share someone else's private details without their permission;
  • pretend to be a vet or anyone else you are not;
  • try to break into Furr, other people's accounts or our systems, overload them, or copy data from them with automated tools;
  • upload viruses or anything that could damage Furr or other people's devices.

8. Respecting everyone

We don't refuse, limit or treat anyone differently because of their race, ethnicity, religion, language, caste, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, political opinion or where they come from. We respect your freedom to express yourself within our rules, your privacy and your right to complain. If you think we have treated you unfairly, email support@furr-labs.com and someone not involved in the decision will look at it.

9. Community features

Lost & found, owner questions and tips, vet tips and events are coming in a later release. When they arrive, our community guidelines are part of these terms. We may hold, hide or remove posts that break them, and limit or close accounts that break them repeatedly. We will tell you which rule was broken and let you ask for a review.

10. Plans, prices and founding members

  • Free. Furr has a free plan. It has limits (such as the number of pets and uploads), shown in the app.
  • Founding members. Everyone who creates an account in the six months after Furr's public launch is a founding member. We will publish the launch date. Founding members get every feature that exists in that time free until the six months end. After that, they can choose a Plus plan with 30% off their first payment (the first month on monthly, or the first year on yearly), or move to Free.
  • Plus. Paid plans aren't on sale yet. When they are, the price is the one shown in the app when you buy. Plus is planned at LKR 399 a month or LKR 3,490 a year. People who create their first account after the founding period get two months of Plus free, once. Unless you cancel before the two months end, Plus then continues at the plan price you chose, and we remind you before the first charge.
  • Billing. Plus is bought through the App Store or Google Play, under their terms. It renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings at least a day before it renews; deleting the app doesn't cancel it. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, and they send your receipts.
  • Price changes. If we change the price of a plan you pay for, we will tell you at least 30 days before, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
  • If you stop paying, you move back to Free and keep everything you saved.

11. New features and changes

On our website and in the app, features marked "Coming soon" or "Coming later" are our plans, not a promise of what will arrive or when. We may change, improve or remove features. If we remove something you pay for, we will tell you at least 30 days before, and you can cancel and get a refund for the time you have paid for but won't get.

12. Furr's name and app

The Furr name, logo, app, website and their design belong to us. You may use the app as it is meant to be used, but you may not copy, sell or rebuild it. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without paying you.

13. Ending your account

  • You can delete your account in the app at any time. Here's how, and what is deleted.
  • We may suspend or close an account only if it seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, puts people or animals at risk, or if the law requires it. Unless the law or safety prevents it, we will tell you why first, give you a chance to respond and to save your records, and let you ask for a review.
  • If we ever close Furr, we will give you at least 30 days' notice so you can save your records, and refund any time you have paid for but won't get.

14. Our responsibility to you

  • We provide Furr with reasonable care and skill and fix problems as soon as we can, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
  • We are not responsible for what happens to your pet's health because of something entered in Furr, a reminder that didn't arrive, or advice from someone else, unless it was caused by our negligence.
  • We are not responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably foresee, or for problems caused by things outside our control, such as your phone, your internet connection, or the app stores.
  • Otherwise, our total responsibility to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem, or LKR 10,000.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit, including under the Unfair Contract Terms Act No. 26 of 1997. Your statutory rights, including under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act, are not affected.

15. Sri Lankan law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. If you have a problem, email support@furr-labs.com first; we will try to solve it within 14 days. If we can't, the courts of Colombo can decide.

16. Changes to these terms

We will tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before a change that matters takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account before then. Small fixes, such as clearer wording, we may make at any time. These terms are in English; if we publish a translation, the English version applies if they differ.
